WHO IS BIG BEAR?
Chief Big Bear, also known as Mistahimaskwa, was a highly influential Plains Cree chief who played a significant role in the negotiations of the treaty between the Cree and the Canadian government. He was born in the early 1830s in what is now known as Saskatchewan, Canada, and rose to prominence in the 1870s as a leader of his people.
